Why am I getting SERIUS satellite radio in my car for free?

Hi, my husband and I got a used 2005 Jeep Liberty about a year and a half ago. We’ve had SIRIUS satellite radio since the day we started driving it. The previous owner had a subscription to it. I’m not sure how this works, has this ever happend to anyone else? We never purchased anything for it; could the previous owner still be paying for it?
